The Ministry

Pastor Edward is the minister of a church in Lusaka, Zambia, and he is passionate about sharing the love of Christ with others. Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world, facing significant challenges such as poverty, low standards of education, and high unemployment. Due to limited resources, church leaders struggle to adequately train their members in spiritual growth, let alone equip them to disciple others. Without external support, they are unable to fulfill God's call to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).

The Vision

Edward’s vision is rooted in the Great Commission from Matthew 28:19-20, where they are called to go and make disciples of all nations, both within Zambia and beyond. Zambia consists of 10 provinces and 72 districts, and their primary focus is to reach the unreached populations in the Eastern part of Zambia, which is predominantly Muslim. They plan to establish several initiatives to meet the diverse needs of the community, including an orphanage, a community school, a Bible school, a tailoring center, and a carpentry center. These efforts are designed to serve both the spiritual and practical needs of the people.

Their five-year goal is to have this ministry operational in all 116 districts across the 11 provinces of Zambia. This vision was birthed during a recent time of prayer on a mountain, where God impressed upon their hearts the urgency and scope of this mission.

The Impact

DI has played a crucial role in helping Edward’s fulfill his vision through their discipleship training materials and other resources. Through Disciplers International training, he has been equipped to train and equip others. Since completing the training in 2021, he has discipled 30 individuals and has committed to visiting them on a weekly basis. His goal is to disciple more, aiming to reach over 200 people within the next three years.

With the training and resources provided by Disciplers International, he is actively fulfilling his vision of training and equipping believers to become true disciples of Christ and disciplers for Christ. As James 2:26 says, "faith without works is dead." He is deeply grateful to God for blessing Disciplers International for making their faith alive and active through their resources and training.
