The Ministry
Malawi is among the poorest countries globally, with one of the lowest standards of education in its public schools. Limited educational opportunities and scarce resources hinder church leaders' ability to effectively train and equip their congregations. As a result, the growth of believers and the fulfillment of the Great Commission, as outlined in Matthew 28:19-20, face significant challenges. Despite these challenges, Patrick and Mervis Readson oversee 39 churches in the Blantyre City region using the Disciplers International Step-by-Step method, focusing on teaching, training, and equipping others to become disciple-makers.
The Vision
Patrick and Mervis Readson are dedicated to discipling as many individuals as possible to become faithful Disciplers for Christ, with a particular focus on reaching and mentoring the most impoverished communities in Malawi.
In addition to this spiritual mission, they are trusting God to guide them in the establishment of several key initiatives aimed at addressing the pressing needs in their country. These include the opening of a Primary and Secondary School, a Technical School, a Bible School, a Health Clinic, and an Orphanage.
The Impact
Disciplers International has equipped the Readsons with valuable resources and training, empowering them to address both spiritual and physical needs within their communities.
Spiritual Development: Utilizing the Discipleship Training Process from Disciplers International, the Readsons have successfully discipled over hundreds men and women across Malawi and Mozambique. Through this process, many have embraced Jesus as their personal Savior.
Physical Development: Disciplers International has also provided crucial support in areas such as educational resources, church building initiatives, and small business training, all of which have contributed to job creation and sustainable grow.
