God at work in Nairobi, Kenya

By Patrick Amtallan

I start by introducing my wife Perecy (on the left), who is standing next to our daughter, Ivy, who is in high school where she studies French as her foreign language. Sometimes traveling missionaries attend our church services when they visit Nairobi. Standing next to me on the right is Missionary Peter Malec from the Czech Republic.

Bart Physioc from Disciplers International developed the Step-by-Step Process to equip churches and prepare ministers for Great Commission work. I was one of the privileged pastors who enrolled in the training and as a result, God is transforming our Christian community. Bart has been caring and loving as he mentors, coaches, counsels, and trains us on how we should go, and the Lord has given me a heart to train others. He taught me about servanthood, and now I am helping others in my Christian Community.

Me and my family with Missionary Lonnie Berger from the United States. Lonnie was attended our church service while visiting Nairobi.

I have been training Pastors Cornelius in Kenya and Masauso in Zimbabwe. Pastor Masauso completed his Oral Exam a few weeks ago and is now completing his final requirements for Associate status with Disciplers International. Thus far I have taken over 30 believers through the Step-by-Step Discipleship Training; four are university students preparing for their Oral Exam, which evaluates their ability to recall all major teaching points presented in their training sessions.

This photo shows a Step-by-Step training session in process where the four pastors are listening to the training video presented by Bart from Disciplers International. These men are semi-literate and only understand Swahili. To accommodate them I interpret the training in Swahili. They enjoy the training very much!

God is blessing our fellowship with growth, not only in number but especially in spiritual maturity. We no longer struggle to make disciples because the training and resources provided through Disciplers International have given us all we need. We pray according to God's will, and the Lord is blessing us mightily.

The Amtallan family gives thanks to the Lord for the ministry of Disciplers International, which continues to help our churches grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ by empowering us to make disciples according to the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20. We pray for the Lord to give us a great harvest!
