From the Director of DII, Bart Physioc…

Ever since becoming an Army chaplain nearly 20 years ago I've discipled individuals at each of my duty stations in the U.S. and overseas.

Opportunities to make disciples have abounded, but constant moves have made it difficult to mature the ministry in any given location.

To address this persistent problem, and with steadfast support and encouragement from trusted friends, I initiated actions to establish a non-profit organization, build a staff of leaders and institute the 14-Step discipling process.

I am pleased to report that the IRS has confirmed the non-profit status of Disciplers International. Indeed, DI is now well on it's way to fulfill the call of Christ to "make disciples of all nations."

On discipling…

In 1 Tim. 4:16 the Apostle Paul says, “Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.” The Greek word for "persevere" (epimeno) can mean to stay in place or to remain on course. In the context of verse 16 Paul may have both meanings in mind for Timothy and for us. Indeed, when equipping others it is imperative that we stay true to God’s word and remain faithful to the process of disciplemaking. So, in both respects, let us persevere!

His mission and vision is our mission and vision!

Life without purpose is meaningless. Jesus gives us meaning for life and the means to fulfill our purpose in life, which is “To Know God and To Make Him Known.” Disciplers International is dedicated to fulfill this dual purpose through a 14-Step process in which we will:

  • equip Faithful, Intentional, Teachable (FIT) followers of Jesus Christ
  • as quickly as possible
  • one disciple at a time
  • who will be able to reproduce this discipling experience in others!

Discipling is a biblical imperative! Choosing to obey the command of Christ, expressed directly and purposefully in His Great Commission, requires dedication and commitment on the part of every Christian. Developing and employing a disciple-making strategy requires clear understanding of how Jesus did it and why.

Discipleship is essential for the spiritual development of all who profess Jesus as Savior and Lord. In order to be effective a FIT Christian one must be trained and equipped by a qualified discipler. This does not happen merely in a class or with a program, but through a personal investment of one’s knowledge and experience in the life of another. The example of Jesus investing Himself in the lives of 12 men is our model to follow.
Disciplers International, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that assists military chapels and civilian churches around the world to establish, support and sustain disciple-making ministries. Disciplers International, Inc. is accountable to God to minister using scriptural principles and ethical financial management.
